Annual Champagne Tasting

Date: 26 May

Celebrate the end of Term or help get through exams with the annual Champagne Tasting. Join Romané Basset from the Gérard Basset Foundation and an old member of the society. We will explore the history of champagne making, explore the process and demystify the labels and terminology of champagne, sparkling wines, and Rosé.

Loire Valley Tasting: Domaine de la Cune

Date: 18 May

We will be tasting six wines from a small family owned and operated vineyard located in Saumur-Champigny. Three red wines and three white wines as well as a Loire Crémant. Learn about smaller family run and operated wine production and the focus on community history and heritage in one of France's most famous wine regions.

Special Tasting with Hackstons Wine in Knightsbridge

Date: 6 March

Join us off-site at Hackston's wine shop in Knightsbridge where we will tour a number of unique French and Spanish wines. Enjoy a Champagne tasting upon arrival.

Hackston's has also waved corkage fees for after the event and have given us a discount on any bottles we wish to purchase.

Fortified Wine Tasting

Date: 26 Feb

Join us for a tasting of fortified wine. Learn about how they are made, how to taste them and some of the history behind the wines. Ready yourself for the cold darkness of winter with some warming wines.

South African Wine Tasting

Date: 12 February

Join us and Edgmond Wines for a tour around the South African Wine Regions. Try unique South African straw wine, some of the highest altitude and steepest sloop wines produced in South Africa and a Pinor Nior from an unusual region.

Additionally, learn about how the wine industry in South Africa has changed over the last 25 years and its present and future progression.

Specialist Talk: Sense and the Senses in Medieval Wine Appreciation

Date: 2 February

Join us for a talk with Dr. Azelina Jaboulet-Vercherre about her recent book on how the medieval world understood and used wine. Complementing the talk will be an interactive wine tasting

Introduction to Wine Tasting

Date: October

Come join us for an event introducing you to the world of wine and wine tasting. Join us whether you have never tasted wine before, curious to learn more or are already an established enjoyer.

Learn about how to "nose" your wine. What are legs? Why do we talk about minerality? What makes a wine full or light bodied?

Château Lagrange

Date: November

The Château Lagrange estate, Third Classified Growth in 1855, first planted at the beginning of the 16th century, extends in one single block at the west of the appellations.

Join us as Benjamin Vimal (Deputy General Manger and Wine Maker) leads a tasting of six of their wines. Come learn about the domaine, their history and philosophy and try some amazing wine.

Areni Global Wine Tasting and Talk

Date: 16 Oct

Join us as we host Pauline Vicard from Areni Global to discus wine consumption practices and changes, as well as a small curated wine tasting.

Areni Global is the leading wine think tank. We will be Talking about changes consumer practices amongst young and student drinkers of wine as part of a larger research project.
